Cold Forming

End of Line

A press line only ends when the workpieces are in a transport container. Orientation robots are used to deposit workpieces such that they can be destacked by operators quickly and in an ergonomically optimised fashion. A glare-free lighting with even brightness helps to optimise quality assurance. Strothmann also optionally offers automated workpiece stacking.

Orientation station

If workpiece orientation in the EoL is requested, e.g. for ergonomic reasons, Strothmann frequently uses a combination of a shuttle and two orientation robots. The press transfer unit deposits the workpieces on the shuttle, which then moves toward the robots. The robots remove the workpieces from the shuttle and position them on the conveyor belts in the desired orientation. Our innovative FeederPlus6neo permits workpiece orientation without using a shuttle and robots. This is a crucial cost-saving factor, as the orientation function is already part of the feeder due to its functional principle. It also significantly decreases the space requirements. Fewer tooling units, less programming and less maintenance result in additional cost savings.

The shuttle is used in conjunction with the orientation robots. In addition to the linear axis, the shuttle can also be equipped with a vertical rotational axis. The shuttle can also optionally be equipped with a turning function, if specific workpiece positions are required in the EoL.

Tooling change

The tooling change for the orientation robots and the shuttle is fully automated, e.g. using revolving doors. An orientation robot is used for the shuttle tooling change.

Outfeed conveyors

Depending on the customer’s requirements, we use outfeed conveyors with a wide variety of configurations, lengths, and belt types. The belts can optionally be designed to be adjustable in length and height.
