A camera system detects the position of workpieces on the outfeed conveyor and sends the appropriate information to the handling unit (industrial robot or linear robot). The handling unit removes the workpiece from the outfeed conveyor and deposits it in a suitable container (standard container or workpiece-specific container). Depending on the output, one or more destacking units are used. Each container station is designed to make continuous destacking possible, even while containers are being changed. The container position can also be detected by an optical system in the destacking unit upon request. An automatic workpiece check can optionally be performed upstream of destacking.
The advantages of automatic destacking are significantly reduced manpower requirements and the prevention of ergonomically problematic workplaces. In conjunction with the automatic workpiece monitoring system, this function also makes the quality check more objective, thereby reducing quality-related costs.
