The area in front of the press line (sheet metal loader) as well as the parts handling inside and between the presses has been automated for years, especially for large blank and skin panel parts.

It is therefore all the more important that these high-quality,
finished parts are transferred to the downstream operations
in the best possible quality.

Especially in quality control, reliance is still placed on the human eye because it is capable of making a judgement and is not reliant on pre-set stipulations.

Handling of the parts (racking) is being left more and more
to robots, whether of the conventional articulated-arm
type, linear or hybrid robots. New concepts and technologies
are necessary in order to deal with the entirety of the
logistical processes. Planning frequently has to be done within
space parameters which are set by existing building
structures that cannot be changed.
